Meet your Spring 2026 officers:
President: Miles Shanor
(they/he)
Miles is UofNEA’s President. They are a junior at the university studying Secondary Education & English (PackTeach English). Outside of their studies, they are the president of the NSEA Aspriring Educators statewide, serve on NSEA’s Clark County TIP & Government Relations committee, and work as a paraprofessional & substitute teacher in Washoe County.
Vice President: Dillon Moss

Dillon is our VP and a friendly, familiar face. Along with being Miles’ right-hand-man, Dillon is also the current College of Education & Human Development (COEHD) senator, Executive Director of Nevada Boys State, and a PackTeach Political Science major in his third year. Dillon is and has always been a hardworking ally to unions, and therefore it was the natural next step for him to be elected as UofNEA’s VP.
Treasurer/Community Service Chair: Tariq Washington

Tariq plays a role in both the finances and community outreach of our club. He coordinates volunteer events that the club participates in. He is studying Elementary Education at the university as a sophomore and works as a paraprofessional at a local elementary school. Tariq is also involved in UNR’s local Young Democratic Socialists of America chapter.
Public Relations Chair: Emily Hembree

Alongside that, she keeps in touch with our College of Education & Human Development (COEHD) to collaborate and coordinate events. From Bishop, CA, she is a junior studying Secondary Education with a focus in English (PackTeach English).
